The bars and clubs are open until 4 in the morning on weekdays and even longer on weekends. The best discos are located in the famous Reeperbahn district, where many of the bars can also be found.

Grosse Freiheit 36 is actually made up of three venues. The big concerts and parties take place in the main hall. In the Kaiserkeller, legendary because of the Beatles' performances in the 1960s, small bands regularly take the stage and music fans dance to rock, metal and gothic sounds during the week. The atmosphere in Galerie 36 is quite different: there, people sway to Latin and reggae music every Friday and Saturday evening.
