Athens is a year-round destination, offering a wide range of accommodation options. The Acropolis and Plaka are among the best areas to stay, thanks to their proximity to many major sights, as well as restaurants, shops, and cafés. For a less tourist-focused experience, Psiri and Koukaki provide a more local feel while still being well located.
Omonia and Exarchia offer more affordable accommodation, but they are considered less safe than other parts of the city, even though Athens is generally safe overall.
