From exotic coastal resorts with every modern convenience to backpacker dormitories, there is a wide range of accommodation in Samoa to suit every budget.
For those interested in a more traditional experience there are village stays that can be arranged. Fales are traditional thatched roof enclosures usually open-sided with sleeping mats and mosquito nets generally supplied. They are located only a few metres from the beach and few have electric lights and beds, while bathroom facilities are usually shared.
These are a great option for both couples and children. As most are located within a nu’u — Samoan village — it is advisable to ask regarding village customs and what you should observe to be polite during your stay. Prices can range widely due to season. Also, there are plenty of special deals and packages available.
