Chios has several swanky hotels, plus a good choice of stylish boutique properties, mid-range beach resorts, budget guesthouses and self-catering apartment complexes. Choose Chios Town or Karfas to stay close to the livelier areas of the island, or venture out to remoter locations for tranquility and secluded, pristine beaches.

Argentikon Suites

Undoubtedly the most stylish place to stay in Chios. This was the family home of the Genoese dynasty and boasts gorgeous interiors, lavish bedrooms and opulent dining amid the greenery of a Kambos estate.

Chandris Chios

The Chandris family is the best known of Chios’s wealthy ship owning dynasties and branched out from shipping into hotels. Built on the site of the original family home (and on a street named after a Chandris ancestor) this modern hotel has superb views of the harbour, comfortable rooms, fine dining and excellent leisure facilities and is by far the most opulent hotel on the island.

Perleas Mansion

This lovely converted farmhouse (and outbuildings) in the lush Kambos fields offers doubles, family rooms and a two-bedroom stone cottage, all beautifully decorated and furnished. Service is excellent, and it is surprisingly affordable.

Marko’s

Marko’s white-painted stonework with coloured accents, greenery, and simple rooms are found in lovely surroundings near the island’s best beach. This makes this little guesthouse with a dozen rooms (sharing showers) a marvellous value for the money.

Aeriko

This prettily coloured guesthouse stands above the beach at Karfas, away from the bustle of the waterfront and shaded by olive trees. The rooms are very well appointed (with air conditioning) and there is even a medium-sized swimming pool. Highly recommended and very well priced for its facilities.
