Airport

Airport

The Haugesund Airport is situated 14 kilometres southwest of the city, on the island of Karmøy in the North Sea, just off Norway's southwest coast. You can catch the airport bus to get to and from the airport. There is another bus connection to the city centre (also to Stavanger and Bergen). The travel time to Haugesund is approximately 20 minutes. The journey is operated by Kystbussen and leaves from outside the terminal building. Taxis are usually parked outside the terminal.

Public Transport

Public Transport

Haugesund itself can be covered on foot, so if you bring a pair of comfortable walking shoes, you will be just fine. However, it can be a little bit cold to walk around in the winter, and the local bus is the easiest means of transport if you do not wish to walk. The bus is also convenient if you want to visit any of the towns nearby. They are usually reliable and on time. The bus company is called Kolombus, and depending on how much you would need to use the bus, there are discount cards available.
