    Luleå Airport (LLA) is located about 7 km south-southeast of Luleå, near the village of Kallax, about 15 minutes from the city centre. Luleå Lokal Traffic's bus 4 and bus 104 take you to and from the airport. Bus 4 takes you to Smedjegatan/the city centre, and on towards Luleå University. While bus 104 takes you to Smedjegatan/the city centre, and on towards Luleå bus station and Luleå train station. Taxis are located just outside the arrival hall. And if you wish to rent a car, rental car companies can be found in parking lot P2.

    Communications in Norrbotten County are well-developed, a necessity in a region where there are mile after mile of deep forests, rushing rivers, and wilderness separating towns and villages from each other. Luleå Lokaltrafik, LLT, is the local bus company that runs every day in the city centre and to the outpost of Luleå. Länstrafiken i Norrbotten AB is the principal provider of all public bus transport in Norrbotten and its routes run between the villages. It is also possible to take the train to Boden and onward to, for example, Kiruna. The railway runs through the county’s forests and pristine mountain scenery all the way to Narvik in Norway.
