Public Transport

Girona’s compact size makes its historic centre ideal for exploring on foot. For journeys further afield, the city offers ten local bus routes serving all major neighbourhoods. Purchase single tickets or travel cards directly from the driver when boarding.
Intercity buses connect Girona to towns across Catalonia. The city’s main railway station, located west of the Old Town on Plaça d’Espanya, provides conventional services to Barcelona, Portbou, and the French border. It also serves as a stop on high-speed AVE routes linking Paris, Marseille, Toulouse, Figueres, Barcelona and Madrid.
