There are no post offices in Sweden. Stamps are available for purchase at most kiosks, newsstands and convenience stores. Postboxes can usually be found nearby. For packages and big parcels, look for "Postombud", a designated area in grocery stores or corner stores.

Åre Östersund Airport (OSD)

Åre Östersund Airport, formerly Östersund–Frösön Airport, is situated 11 km west of Östersund and 94 km from Åre. While daily transfers to Åre aren't available, pre-booked journeys can be arranged via the Flygtaxi website.

Best Time to Visit

The ski season in Åre is usually from mid-November until early May. The best time to visit is from early February to late April, when the days are longer and the weather more pleasant, but still snowy enough to ski.
