Travel to Gotland
It’s easy to get to the Gotland. The ferries go year-round from Nynashamn and Oskarshamn, and will take you to Visby in about three hours. In the summer there are up to 18 departures per day to and from Visby. For more information, see www.destinationgotland.se or call +46 771 22 33 00.
You can fly from Stockholm with Gotlandsflyg and Skyways. All year round there are also flights from Gothenburg and Ängelholm Gotlandsflyg and from Norrköping with Direktflyg. Gotlandsflyg have summer departures from Sundsvall, Skavsta/Nyköping Ronneby, Helsinki and Hamburg. SAS has summer departures between Copenhagen and Visby. City Airline fly from Gothenburg. Widerö flies from Oslo and Airberlin opera has direct flights from Berlin.
Public Transport
Most are within walking distance in Visby. Attractions, shopping and restaurants/cafés are concentrated in or near the medieval town wall. For excursions in the vicinity of Visby, it’s is easy to rent a bike for the day or for longer. If you are supposed to get around the whole island of Gotland, you need access to a car.
