Do & See
The most exciting parts can be explored on foot, thanks to several walking paths (three for Clermont and one for Montferrand) through the two ancient city centres clearly marked by sign posts in the streets. If you have time, the whole region is home to architectural treasures, museums, castles and France’s richest Roman heritage. It’s also a wonderful site for games and adventures, with some incomparable trails to offer walkers, around the emblematic Puy de Dôme volcano.
Do & See

Old Town Centres (clermont And Montferrand)

A must is to go on foot to discover the sites, the buildings, and the important moments in the life of the two cities. You will find medieval and Romanesque masterpieces, Gothic and Renaissance private mansions as well as great Gothic sanctuaries like the Cathedral. There are also not less than forty fountains sculpted in petrified lava from volcanoes. Montferrand itself is perhaps the most authentic, with its exceptional heritage and several historical sites, such as place de la Rodade or place Marcel Sembat, the original heart of the city and Notre Dame de la Prospérité Gothic Church.
