Airport
Eilat’s main international airport is Ovda or Uvda (code:VDA), 60 km (37 miles) north. Driving time to town is about 50 minutes. Most passengers arrive on tour operator packages that include bus transfer, so it is often difficult to pick up a taxi at the airport. There are car hire desks at the airport. Public bus 392 runs into town every hour.
Public Transport
Eilat town centre is small and easy to get around on foot. Local buses serving the hotel area (no 1) and Taba Road (no 15), run every 30 minutes, 07.00-19.00 daily except Saturday, stopping about 15.00 Friday.
Taxi
Numerous privately owned metered taxis wait at hotels and attractions and can also be hailed in the street. Rates are 25% higher at night and on Shabbat.
