Den rumänsk-ortodoxa katedralen är uppförd under perioden 1936–1946. Den byggdes ovanpå 5 000 träbjälkar för att den inte skulle sjunka ner i den träskmark som Timişoara är byggt på. Utanför kyrkan finns minneskors över de människor som dog i 1989 års revolution.
