Because taxis are cheap – it is worth taking a taxi instead of the bus – it can make good practical sense to use them if you’re short on time. There are taxi ranks at the plac Wolnosci and at various spots along ul. Piotrkowska. Alternatively, ride sharing apps such as Uber and MyTaxi are both in wide use as well.

Poland can be visited visa-free for up to 90 days by citizens of most European countries, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Malaysia, Israel, UAE and most countries in America. If you are unsure whether or not you need to apply for a visa, we recommend contacting the embassy or consulate in your country. International (non-Schengen) travelers need a passport that is valid for at least 3 months after the end of their intended trip in order to enter the Schengen zone. Public transport

In terms of size, Lodz is a very manageable city, and most places can be easily walked to. Getting around Lodz with public transport is also simple and straightforward, since an extensive, modern bus and tram network is spread throughout the city. Buses and trams use the same tickets, available in various denominations. The Jakdojade website and app are a convenient and handy tool for anyone trying to navigate Lodz by public transport. Long-distance trains operate regularly to other Polish cities. Lodz’s train station and central bus station are located next to each other on the eastern edge of town a few blocks from the northern end of Piotrkowska. Warsaw is 2.5 hours away by train.
