Ulu Factory
Housed in a cabin-like building near Ship Creek, the Ulu Factory offers visitors a firsthand look at the crafting of traditional Alaskan ulu knives. Through viewing windows, you can observe skilled craftsmen shaping blades, assembling handles, and preparing the knives for sale. Staff members are available to demonstrate how to use, sharpen, and care for an ulu knife and its accompanying cutting bowl. The adjoining gift shop features a variety of locally made crafts and souvenirs, allowing you to take home a piece of Alaskan craftsmanship.
