Tostao'

While there are plenty of independent cafes in Bogotá, Colombia's most ubiquitous cafe chain Tostao' deserves a mention. There are hundreds of these small cafes all over the capital. Their 'tinto' coffee is not brewed for the most sophisticated palate, but is sure to wake you up in an instant. Extremely convenient for a quick break or to hide from the weather, since there is a Tostao' around the corner almost everywhere. Try their 'torta de vino' — one of the most delicious cakes you'll every try.

Pastries and food are also excellent. Combined with slick, modern decor of dark wood, lush plants, concrete and brick — truly one of the best coffee chains on the continent. The Financial Times agrees, calling Colo one of the best independent coffee shops in the world in 2021.
