Public Transport

Public transportation in Kenya is dominated by private companies. The most common way to get around is by matatus (minibuses and pickup cabs of various types). Buses are mainly operated by Kenya Bus Service (KBS). If you have a car, a permit (Ksh200) is necessary to park in the city.

Best Time to Visit

With relatively stable temperatures throughout the year, it's the amount of rainfall that will determine your stay in Kenya. The two dry seasons last from January to February, and from June through October. You might want to observe the spectacular Great Migration, which takes place in August.
