Andechser am Dom

Andechser am Dom
Kloster Andechs is a popular excursion destination in the southwest of Munich. Even if you don't have the time to visit the monastery, you can still stop by the restaurant for a beer and eat a meat salad or fish with truffle sauce. The rustic ambiance, with its dark wooden panelling and whitewashed arches, evokes a sense of nostalgia.

Airbräu

Airbräu

Why wait to dive into Bavarian culture? Airbräu, the world’s first airport brewery, lets you clink Maß glasses mere steps from your arrival gate. Since 1999, this sprawling beer garden has been brewing traditional beers under the Reinheitsgebot (German Beer Purity Law), with copper kettles gleaming proudly beside wooden benches. The menu is a greatest hits of Bavarian comfort food: think crispy pork knuckle, giant pretzels, and Obatzda cheese spread. Whether killing a layover or kicking off a trip, it’s a euphoric introduction to Munich’s beer scene. Just follow the scent of hops and roasted meat; it’s impossible to miss.
