Lindos might be small, but it's brimming with character. A must-visit is the local Acropolis — not just a standout in Lindos but one of the island's most iconic archaeological gems. Home to monumental 4th-century gates and ancient reliefs dating back to 280 B.C., it's a step back in time. Down the hill, you'll find the 14th-century Castle of the Knights of St John. And don't miss the frescoes in the Virgin Mary of Lindos Church, dating from the 15th century.

Built for the 1996 summer Olympics, the Centennial Park is now used by the public for outdoor and recreational activities.

A decree made by the government of the Dubrovnik Republic in 1546 allowed Jews to settle within the city ramparts. This officially marks the establishment of the Jewish Ghetto on the street called "Žudioska ulica". In 1652, one of the houses was turned into a Synagogue, whose interior is in the baroque style. It has been preserved to this day, with minor changes, and is one of the oldest synagogues in Europe. The first floor houses a museum with a number of religious artefacts and archive, Rococo, baroque and Louis XVI furniture and paintings by Italian masters.

Standing tall at 2,700 metres, Monte Cinto, also known as the "roof of Corsica", is the tallest mountain on the island. Though sweeping panoramic views can be enjoyed from its peak, it is a challenging climb that should only be attempted by experienced climbers.
