Chiang Mai

Immersed by spectacular mountains and the northern Thai countryside, Chiang Mai offers spectacular sceneries and beautiful ancient temples. Chiang Mai has become an increasingly popular destination and a favourite with many people. Even though being the second largest city in Thailand, there are only 250,000 people living here. The city is small and intimate, and almost everything is within walking distance. But do not be fooled, in this area there is much to see. Make sure you plan your trip well.

Turin Ski Region

“El diau, el diau!” “The devil! The devil!” It was in 1897 when mountain people from Sauze d’Oulx witnessed a red-faced man with a long white beard descending from the slopes, with long wooden skis attached to his feet. He was a Swiss engineer, Adolf Kind, and the wooden skis were the first seen in Italy. Today there are more than a hundred ski-lifts and 1,500 km of slopes for all levels – as well as alpine skiing, sledges and huskies, telemark skiing and the snowboarding.

Seychelles

European explorers took what today is Praslin Island's nature reserve to be the original Garden of Eden, and no wonder – the primeval forest of Vallee de Mai has changed little over millions of years, and giant Aldabra tortoises still roam the archipelago populated by an incredible diversity of endemic plant and animal species. Out of the 115 islands that make up the Seychelles only 12 are inhabited – by Homo sapiens, that is – making for splendidly pure natural landscapes, unspoilt beaches, and some of the world's most fantastic diving.

Kerry

Right out on the edge of Europe, where Ireland’s highest mountains dip down into the wild Atlantic Ocean, is the ancient Kingdom of Kerry. This is the furthest west you can go in all of Ireland. “Next parish, Manhattan” they say here. And it’s partly this far-flung feel – away from the rest of the world in Ireland’s beautiful South West corner – that makes it so appealing. There’s good food, fine pubs, easy banter and live music to be found right across Kerry in lively towns and tiny settlements.
