Karlshamn

Experience Karlshamn’s beautiful archipelago! The archipelago boat departs from the guest harbour in Karlshamn, opposite the First Hotel. There are several tours a day which stop at Tärnö, Joggesö and Tjärö. Sometimes there is also an evening tour. The archipelago boat gives you a snapshot of Karlshamn's archipelago, from the inner isles to the outer archipelago, from west to east. There is also a possibility to have a snack on board. If you leave early in the morning you can stay on one of the islands, before taking the last boat back to the city. Tickets are purchased on board with cash or credit card. The museum is located in the cultural centre of Karlshamn - Kulturkvarteret. Here you will find the old Swedish punsch factory, tobacco factory, an art gallery and the famous song writer for children Alice Tegner's special room. Skottbergska Gården is also in the cultural quarters. It is one of Sweden´s best preserved trading houses with roots from the late 18th century, orginal adornments and an apartment furnished in the style of that period.

The staty commemorating the migration to America via Karlshamn in the 19th century. The Swedish author Wilhelm Moberg wrote about the Swedish emigration to America in his novels and a large number of people left Sweden via Karlshamn. Axel Olssons famous statue depicts the key characters, Karl-Oskar and Kristina, looking out over the sea before starting their adventure.

Enjoy swimming in the sea regardless of the weather and water temperature. "Kallbadhuset" is an outdoor swimming bath with wonderful view overlooking the sea, with access to showers, sauna, toilets, separate sections for ladies and gentlemen and shared lounge. Bring your own food, drinks and padlock for the lockers and just enjoy the beautiful and relaxing envoirment. Each dressing room is equipped with a safe. Smoking is prohibited in the area.
