Pafos region

Pafos, a wonderful destination, all year round Pafos is located on the southwest coast of the island and is sheltered from the north by the Troodos mountains. It has a temperate climate, one of the healthiest in the whole Mediterranean. In the Pafos region of Cyprus you can bask in sunshine all the year round and feel the warmth of a welcoming people with a reputation for hospitality. Splash about in the sparkling warm waters of the Mediterranean in the summer; marvel at the splendours of nature as the fields are carpeted in wild flowers in the spring; explore ancient sites in perfect temperatures in the autumn; and in the mild winter keep fit with a round or two of golf or an invigorating game of tennis. Whatever you desire - activity, tranquillity, good food, fine wine, spas, walking, golf, culture, nature, birdwatching - the Pafos region offers it all.

Tasty in Antwerp: Zurenborg

Zurenborg is quite possibly the most beautiful neighbourhood in Antwerp. It flaunts its belle époque grandeur like a coquettish lady. It proudly shows surprised visitors its art nouveau façades, elegant streets and squares. But the highlight is the 19th century Cogels-Osylei: sublime architecture from around the turn of the previous century.

Tasty in Antwerp: Het Zuid

Het Zuid is highly attractive to locals and visitors alike. You will find stately mansions, wide boulevards and beautiful squares there. Art lovers will appreciate the many art galleries and museums such as the FOMU | Photo Museum and M HKA | Museum of Contemporary Art Antwerp. Thanks to its many well-frequented cafés and restaurants, Het Zuid is also a very popular night spot.

Tasty in Antwerp: Theatre Area

The Theatre District owes its name to the many theatres here. This is the working habitat of many directors, actors, dancers and musicians: in the pubs you can almost hear the creativity bubbling away. It’s worth a visit during the day, too, because you’ll find many fashion, antique and interior design shops here, as well as two small but beautiful museums: the Maiden’s House Museum and the Museum Mayer van den Bergh.

Tasty in Antwerp: St. Andrew's

St. Andrew's was once known as ‘the Parish of Hardship’, but those days are long since passed. The Fashion Museum is the public face of the neighbourhood, and in the Nationalestraat and Kammenstraat area vintage clothing and haute couture go hand in hand. There’s always something going on in this district. And don’t miss Kloosterstraat, with its shops full of antique treasures and bric-a-brac.

Tasty in Antwerp: Historic centre

The old city centre is steeped in history. You will find it in ancient building-fronts on narrow streets or in the imposing Grand-Place. The Plantin-Moretus Museum is the only museum in the world to be classified as a Unesco World Heritage site. In the shadow of the Cathedral of Our Lady, the city teems with life in intimate pubs and restaurants. The banks of the Scheldt are a great place for a breath of fresh air.

Tasty in Antwerp: Eilandje

Het Eilandje – ‘The Little Island’ – is so-called for good reason: Antwerp’s oldest port area is surrounded by water. Today, port activity is more concentrated in the north, but the feeling of a port is still very much present. Savour the historical atmosphere of the old loading dock with its monumental warehouses, lanterns, hangars and cobblestones. Three major attractions, MAS | Museum aan de Stroom, the Red Star Line Museum and the Port House, have once again drawn attention to the links between the city and the water.

Tasty In Antwerp: Centraal Station

You encounter the whole world in this district of Antwerp – in the faces on the street and in shops, cafés and restaurants. From chic to ordinary, from historical to modern: this district has it all. At its heart is the majestic Central Station. Next to it is the Zoo – Antwerp’s most beautiful gardens. The diamond district is also nearby.

Holy Hamburg

The Advent season is the most beautiful time of the year – for each one of us and for many different reasons. Biscuits and chocolate for breakfast are totally acceptable, mulled wine lights up the hearts and minds, and a sea of light transforms monochrome landscapes into a sparkling winter wonderland. So why would anyone wish to escape to sunnier climes? In fact, it is much easier – and more heart-warming – to truly immerse yourself in the magic of the festive period. #HolyHamburg
