The club scene has literally exploded in the last ten years, and the city has become a favourite destination for the big name DJs.

Revolution

A luxurious bank conversion which has kept all the original 30ft ceilings, marble pillars and classic wood features. Situated just down the slope from the train station Revolution concreted itself into the Newcastle scene with a high reputation for great music, atmosphere, food and service.

Digital

The speaker system at this club is second to none and they‘ve got the club nights to do it justice. Tuesday is Lovedough (the baking hot r‘n‘b night) Stone Love is on a Thursday (brilliant indie night) Wax:On is every Friday (breakbeat, electro, hip-hop) while the legendary house night, Shindig, is the main event on a Saturday.

The Head of Steam

This fantastic pub venue is split over two levels with the basement bar being one of the best places in town to catch the hottest talent emerging from the thriving local scene. Gigs are staged throughout the week, with DJs on Friday and Saturday nights until 1 am. Sunday lunch is served 1 pm-5 pm.

Tokyo

All candles and chandeliers, Tokyo is firmly established on NewcastleGateshead’s classy bar circuit and exudes a chic air. Set over three floors, it has a superb beer garden with its exposed bricks coloured by beautiful little lilac flowers.

Pitcher & Piano

Surely one of the jewels in the crown of the Quayside scene, the Pitcher & Piano takes full advantage of its location overlooking the Gateshead Millennium Bridge and BALTIC, having huge glass walls giving access to stunning views. Inside, it‘s laid-back, modern and offers a great menu.
