The Ship Inn
Historic pub located in one of Exeter’s many narrow alleys and said to be the favourite drinking place of Elizabethan pirate-lord, Sir Francis Drake. There is an obvious nautical theme in its decor and food is served every day.
Prospect Inn
16th Century traditional and reputedly haunted pub on the waterfront serving basic hearty pub food and a selection of beers and comes with a heated open terrace and live music at the weekends.
Fire House
Convivial (if not sometimes crowded) candlelit pub spread over 3 floors of an 18th-century building. A very popular meeting point, this is also a venue for a variety of live music including folk and jazz.
Time Piece
Exeter’s longest established club plays host to an eclectic mix of music. From salsa to indie, urban house to grunge – there should be something for everyone. The venue also boasts a wine bar, restaurant and heated terrace.

Funky and swish cocktail bar and club (Fri-Sat) featuring top flight DJs playing a mix of house, hip hop and drum & bass.
The Cavern Club
Highly respected and raucous live music venue featuring some of the best new and established acts in the independent and underground music scene.
The Fat Pig
Formerly one of the city’s most notorious back street boozers, they offer a gastropub experience with a vibrant atmosphere. Come and enjoy the freshly cooked local produce from the menu that changes daily.
The Hour Glass
The Hour Glass is located high over Exeter’s Historic Quayside. This is a small pub, decorated with an eclectic mix of furniture and lighting, with a particular signature style being the use of hats for lampshades.
