Molekylverkstan

By seeing, hearing, touch and feel, you take part in various experiments in the exhibition. In a playful way, both children and adults learn about the molecule’s exciting world. In addition to many chemistry experiments, you can also climb, hoist yourself, take part in virtual games or learn about the chemical companies in Stenungsund etc.

Göteborgs Kex

Besides the Bohus fortress visitors to Kungälv will also find one of the finest Baroque churches in the Nordic countries sited on the old town square. Take a stroll along the ancient and picturesque Västra gatan and finish up with a visit to the Bräckboden, the Göteborg Kex biscuit factory’s own ‘outlet’. Open Monday-Friday 8.30-18.00, Saturdays 8.00-14.00.

Nordic Watercolour Museum

The Nordic Watercolour Museum is a unique meeting place for art, located on the island Tjörn, 70 km north of Gothenburg. See the international arts
most interesting representatives or the classic watercolour. Special courses and painting courses are held for both adults and kids.

Stillingsön

Unique settlement with an exciting history in a remarkably beautiful environment. Recreational possibilities were available on the island as early as in the 1800’s, where public baths, guest houses, summer residences and a social club lay. Many of these buildings remain to this day.

Mollösund

An old fishing village located on the most south-westerly point of Orust coast, with seething harbour life and restaurants.

Stenunge By

Historically preserved wooden houses with a beautiful garden, greenhouse and a summer café.

Sculpture in Pilan

About a mile from the watercolour museum is the ancient burial ground, Pilane, with around 90 burial sites, gravestones and stone circles from the Iron Age. An array of outdoor sculpture is exhibited here every summer. This summer works by Tony Cragg, Eva Rothschild, Erwin Wurm, Klara Kristalova, Keith Edmier, Lori Hersberger, Peter Tillberg and Eric Langert will be shown 2 june-11september. Open dayli 9-19. Admission 80 SEK, children under 18 free admission.

Sundsby Manor

Sundsby Manor situated on the island of Tjörn, dates back to the 14th Century. Sundsby offers an exciting history, several nature trails and a beautiful landscape. Margareta Hvitfeldt lived and ruled here between 1635-1683. Today the manor and the park are open to the public attracting visitors with its beauty and history. Here is a coffeehouse, a bakery and a farm shop.

Göksäter

Make an excursion to Göksäter! Here you will find everything from textiles to toys. The store has been here in the middle of the countryside on Orust since 1866. Göksäter, Henån, Orust. Open Mon-Wed 9-18, Tur 9-19, Fri 9-18, Sat 9-14.

Tavlebord - Lanthandel

Buy locally produced food and handicraft in a genuine environment. Open Saturdays 10-14. Tavlebord is in Tegneby on western Orust.

Carlsten fortress

Daily guided tours are offered June 1-August 31 at 12.00, 14.00, 15.00. and at 16.00 June 25-July 31.

Join a guided tour around the Carlsten Fortress and end the day with a coffee and pastry at the distinguished Bergs teashop.
