Murcia - Essential Information
Airport
Murcia-San Javier is a small airport near Mar Menor, a large salt water lake, 28 miles from Murcia. A taxi takes about 30 minutes to reach the city. There is also a bus service that leaves for Murcia’s bus terminal three times per day, at 9.30, 17.15, and 20.15.
Public Transport
A network of well-maintained roads makes it easy to drive around the region. Highways connect Murcia with coastal villages Cartegna and La Manga, as well as the rest of Spain. Trains depart from El Carmen railway station for Cartegna, Alicante, Albacete, and onwards to Madrid. The local trains (FEVE) connect Cartegna - Los Nietos with Mar Menor.
