Granada - Essential Information
Airport
Granada has one small airport, which is 17km west of the city. Many people fly into Malaga, then take a bus or a train to Granada. Five daily buses operated by Autocares J. Gonzáles run between the airport and the city center costing €3. A taxi from the airport to the city center costs about €20.
Train
The train station is located 1.5 km outside of the city center, easily accessible by foot.
Public transport
City buses cost 1.20 EUR and are clean and conveniently located. The main bus station is just outside of town, accessed by Bus lines 3 and 33 from Gran Vía and line 10 from Camino de Ronda. Tourist offices have a free pamphlet that shows local routes. There is a direct bus service to Malaga. It is best to get your tickets in advance as at certain times of the year the buses are full and may not be able to accommodate last minute passengers.
Taxi
There is a taxi rank at Plaza Nueva. You may also hail a taxi that has a green light or “libre” sign lit. Most rides within the city cost between €4.50-€7.50. To order a taxi at a specific location, ring Teleradio taxi at +34 958 28 06 54.

Main Post Office
The post office often has long queues. If you only need stamps, they can be purchased at many local tobacco shops.

Both hospitals are central with good emergency facilities and some doctors who speak English.

Pharmacy
Pharmacies in Spain have a system called farmacias de guardia (duty pharmacies), which operate such that one pharmacy has to be open all the time. When any pharmacy is closed, it posts the name of the closest open pharmacy on the door.
