6 July 2019: The Night of Music in Gatchina

The Night of Music Festival is one of Russia's most spectacular and memorable events held in the open air. The stage is set on the smooth surface of the White Lake against the backdrop of the magnificent Gatchina Palace. Chamber music, superb architecture and natural landscape are united in striking harmony to provide visitors of the gala concert with an unforgettable experience. It is now an established tradition to finalize the festival by performing pieces in the crossover genre, which is a symphonic interpretation of pop and rock and roll music. This year's festival presents Symphonic sketches on themes from the Beatles' songs for symphony orchestra. This years’ Night of Music will include a choir, which further adds to the musical diversity of the event. Fireworks over the White Lake will bring the festival to a close.

17-18 August 2019: Lightnights in Gatchina

Saint Petersburg international festival of light art "Lightnights in Gatchina" is a platform for uniting the best creative forces in creating the main event of the North-West region of Russia in the field of light art. The festival is a kind of laboratory for the experiments of artists with new light technologies. The festival will present a collection of light art objects created by masters of different directions: designers, light artists from theaters, stage designers, light designers, architects, engineers, developing innovative technologies, etc. An artistic exposition of light installations will unfold on the territory of the Gatchina Park for two nights, and a multimedia light-and-video show will complete the festival.

13 July 2019: Usadba Jazz International Festival

Usadba Jazz Festival is the biggest Russian open-air festival that has joint jazz, funk, world music, acid-jazz, lounge, jazz-rock, blues and other directions of contemporary improvised music. Usadba Jazz has long gone beyond only a good music and has become a favourite pastime for the whole family, where everyone can find something to their liking. There are shows of brass-ensembles in the lanes of the Estate, children playgrounds with trampolines and animators, fairs of gifts and designer goods, and a big variety of quality gastronomy from the best restaurants. The whole festival is crowned by a grandiose firework.

Stereoleto (in Russian means literally Stereo Summer) based in St.Petersburg is the oldest independent international annual summer festival of contemporary and alternative music in Russia with unforgettable atmosphere, perfect music content and excellent reputation established over the years of existence of the festival. 20-21 April 2019: Festival of Lights

The annual spring Festival of Light, which this time will be called “The Wonder of the World”, will be held in St. Petersburg on April 20 and 21. In 2019, the multimedia performance will take place on Pioneer Square and involve The Theatre of Young Spectators. It was not chosen randomly. The year 2019 is declared the Year of Theater. Thus this year's festival will be dedicated to the great miracle of art - His Majesty the Theater. “Live” artists, actors and acrobats will take part in the plot of the multimedia performance. Along with the recognizable attributes of a classical theater, the presentation will feature textures of cubism and avant-garde art, as well as modern techniques of light, laser and neon shows.

The Musical Olympus International Festival of St. Petersburg is held annually since 1996. The idea of the Festival is widely supported by prominent artists of the world, many of them member the Honorary Committee of the Musical Olympus: Matthias Bamert, Elisso Virsaladze, Daniel Barenboim, Placido Domingo, Montserrat Caballe, Zubin Mehta, Paloma O’Shea, Yuri Temirkanov, Dmitrij Hvorostovskij, Mariss Jansons, Yo-Yo Ma, András Schiff. The festival has come to be known as a “parade of winners.” Every year it presents highly talented young musicians who have recently won prizes at the largest and most prestigious international music competitions.

4-5 May 2019: The Festival of Icebreakers

The world’s only Festival of Icebreakers will be held for the sixth time in Saint Petersburg in May. The event will be held in the water area of Bolshaya Neva and will involve the operating icebreakers of the North West Basin Branch of FSUE Rosmorport: Moskva, Ivan Kruzenshtern, Kapitan Sorokin. Icebreaker Krasin, branch of the Museum of the World Ocean in Saint Petersburg, will be the flagship of the Festival. Citizens and guests of Saint Petersburg will be able to visit the icebreakers during second-day period. The Festival programme includes tours to icebreakers, large-scale historic reenactment dedicated to the development of Arctic and the Polar Convoys during the Great Patriotic War, as well as the presentation of the today’s icebreaking fleet of Russia.

22 June 2019: Scarlet Sails

The Scarlet Sails is the biggest celebration in St. Petersburg, the most massive and famous public event during the White Nights Festival. The tradition is highly popular for spectacular fireworks, numerous music concerts, and a massive water-show including a battle among tens of boats full of pirates on the waters of Neva River. «Scarlet Sails» tradition eventually evolved into a massive demonstration of freedom from «schools and rules» and became the most popular public event ever since, celebrating the ending of school year annually. Crowds of about one million people are treated to a wide variety of free entertainment provided by the city of St. Petersburg. Entertainment also includes appearances by popular rock stars, as well as St. Petersburg Symphony Orchestra, ballet, and other classical acts, performing on several stages simultaneously during the days of the event.
