Milan - Cafes

In Italy, gelato is eaten just as religiously as pasta. It’s not only Italy’s delicious answer to ice cream—it is a way of life. Italian ice cream is often said to be the best in the world.

Sant Ambroeus

Sober and elegant 1930s café, which smacks of classic Paris. Add an ambrogiotti (dark chocolate with zabaglione filling) with your coffee for a flavorful sugar kick.

Princi

Princi presents a new concept regarding bread making. They’re open 24 hours a day, offering smoldering hot coffee and fresh baked foccaccia, cake and pizza. They also have an enticing lunch menu, so whenever you feel like it, pop in for a treat.

Cova

Cova is the most famous café on the fashion street Via Monte Napoleones. Elegant ladies enjoy an afternoon tea while nibbling on Pasticcini cookies or Montebianco pastries. Once in a while, a supermodel will pop by.

Creperia Caffè Vecchia Brera

A very tranquil café with soft lighting, live music and comfortable sofas inviting you to stay for a while, have something to drink and find your center. If you’re hungry, sample the wide variety of sweet and salty crêpes or sandwiches.

Zucca (Caffè Miani)

Zucca (Caffè Miani) is beautifully located at the entrance of Galleria Vittoria Emanuele II and just a short stroll from Teatro alla Scala. Apparently Toscanini and Verdi were a few of the celebrities who used to frequent this venue. Opened in 1867, the interior is impressive with mosaics by Angelo d’Andrea. If you stand and drink by the bar you can avoid the steep prices that rise once you sit down with table service.
