La Rochelle - Essential Information
Airport
The international airport, Aéroport La Rochelle-Ile de Ré, is located just 5 km from the city centre.
The cheapest and fastest way to get in town is the shuttle service. Buses are available Monday through Saturday, running from the airport to the centre of La Rochelle, and vice-versa, about every 10 minutes. Ticket prices: 1 ticket/trip: 1.20€, 7 trips: 6€.
Public transport
The “RTCR” runs an efficient network of public buses. You can purchase tickets on board or in most of the kiosks of La Rochelle. (Single fare: 1.2€ or 1.5€ to Ré Island). RTCR also provides bike and taxi boat services (see below).

The famous yellow bikes of La Rochelle can be hired to discover the city! Free the first two hours.
Sea Bus (rtcr)
A regular boat service between the old port and Les Minimes. (1.70€ per crossing)
