Carcassonne is served by an international airport, “Aéroport Pays de Cathare,” located just 2 km west.
The cheapest and fastest way to get in town is the shuttle service. You can use your ticket for a connection with local transport. Shuttles run according to flight schedules and take you to the city centre, train station and the Cité.
Public transport
The “Aglo’Bus” runs an efficient network of public buses and shuttles (8 lines). You can purchase tickets on board or at the company hub (Halte Centrale/Parking du Dôme on Square Gambetta).
There is a shuttle service between Bastide Saint Louis (market place) and la Cité during the summer season every 15 minutes. From May to October, you can also use the “toucs” (electric vehicles) between the main points of interests within Bastide Saint Louis.
