Bordeaux - Essential Information
Airport
The airport is located about 13 kilometres from the centre. Taxis, trains and buses depart for the city frequently. The train station is within walking distance and trains run every 45 minutes. The journey takes between 30 and 45 minutes. Buses depart every 45 minutes. Taxis cost about €20 during the day with a surcharge for evenings and nights. Agree on a price before departing.
Public Transport
A single ticket for bus and tram costs €1.30 and is valid for 1 hour. A good tip is to invest in a Bordeaux Découverte, a discovery card, which you can buy in the tourist office. It includes free entry to several museums as well as free travel on municipal buses and trams.
Taxi
Taxi Bordeaux has taxis for one to nine people. In addition to taxis, it is also possible to book cars for excursions.
Post
Bureaux des postes, post offices, are recognized by the blue and yellow La Poste sign. Open Monday – Friday from 08.00-19.00. On Saturdays post offices close at 13.00.
Pharmacy
There is a green cross on the outside of chemists. Every chemist has a sign in the window giving details of the chemists, pharmacie de garde, with 24 hour opening.
