Eco hotels

In later years, Copenhagen has been awarded more than a few green awards and received much international recognition, especially because the Copenhagen hotels care a great deal about the environment.

More than half the hotels in the capital have an environmental plan regarding water, laundry, house cleaning, waste, energy consumption, food, smoking, indoor climate, and administration. So come to Copenhagen and sleep with a clear conscience.

Design hotels

A hotel room is no longer just a place to sleep, today hotels have to offer a whole experience. This is something designer hotels know and are specialized in.

The world’s first designer hotel is situated right in Copenhagen: The Radisson Blu Royal Hotel located by the Central Station. The hotel was built in 1960s, and Danish architect Arne Jacobsen was involved in every detail of the hotel - right down to door knobs and silver ware.

Skt. Petri

Very beautiful design hotel located opposite Skt Petri Kirke church and 200 metres from the shops of Strøget and Norreport metro station.

The Square

The Square in Copenhagen is a design hotel in the centre of Copenhagen, just right on Rådhuspladsen. 5 minutes walk away from Tivoli, Hard Rock Café and Strøget, the main street.

Marriott

Walking distance to Copenhagen Central Station and Tivoli. Offers 401 air-conditioned, spacious accommodations with exquisite water and Copenhagen city views.

CABINN City

CABINN City is located in the heart of Copenhagen. The entire metropolitan area is within easy reach. Public transport options are ideal with a bus stop just outside the hotel and Copenhagen Central station only a five-minute walk away.

Hostels

Hostels are a good alternative to the more expensive hotels. Hostels and sleep inns are mainly popular among young people and backpackers. The price is cheap, but prepare yourself for dorm rooms and bunk beds. Danhostel on Langebro is situated across from Islands Brygge with the harbour pool, ice cream shops and take away restaurants within walking distance, and it is not far from City Hall Square.

Camping sites

The cheapest way to stay in Copenhagen is at one of the surrounding camp sites. Copenhagen Camping in beautiful Dragør, is only 12 kilometres from Copenhagen city centre and with easy access to Malmoe via the Oresund Bridge.

Other camping sites are Bellahøj in the north west of the city, scenic Charlottenlund Strandpark north of the city, or Tangloppen in Ishøj.
During summer season it is a good idea to book well in advance.
