The cafe culture is not as widely spread in Shanghai as for example Paris, but it is possible to find places which serve lovely coffee and the perfect sweet to go with it.
Element Fresh
This place is spreading a little healthiness across Shanghai. The Nanjing Road West location was where it all started, but now Element Fresh is serving its stellar sandwiches, salads and smoothies in Wuxing Road, Huaihai Road, Xintiandi, People’s Square and Lujiazui. And nobody’s complaining.
Kommune
Kommune is a great little courtyard café off the boutique shopping street of Tai Kang Road. It serves sandwiches, salads, lasagna, etc.
Antique Garden Shanghai
Antique Garden offers a sanctuary in the busy Shanghai. Lovely Jazz music is often played in the background and they serve coffee, beer, wine and champagne. Can get very busy on Saturdays and Sundays.
Zoe´s
Zoe´s has a European charm to it as the architecture is Swedish! They offer their guests a range of alternatives from salads to pizzas, coffee and smoothies.
Abbey Road Café & Bar
Abbey Road has a lovely bamboo garden which offers shade on a hot summer day. They have a western menu and the music is a mix between rock and blues.
