Many restaurants in Ningbo serves local food, there are no menus. Ningbo cuisine is known for its generous use of seafood, though regional favourites like dumplings and noodles are also widely available.

Ningbo people have the tradition of having Tangtuan (a kind of stuffed dumplings made of glutinous rice flour served in soup) as breakfast in the first day of Lunar New Year, known as Spring Festival. Guang Ya Gou is the best at making Tangtuan in Ningbo. There will be various stuffings, like sesame, sweet osmanthus, shrimp, ham, meet, salted meat, egg yolk and more.

A well known sea food restaurant. Guo Ju Dock Restaurant attracts customers by its fresh sea food, good flavor and low price. You can try the small clams, Qiandaohu big fish head and Mantis shrimp here.
