Kunming - Essential Information
Airport
Kunming Wujiaba International Airport is located less than 3 km southeast of the city centre, equipped with business lounges, its own flower supermarket and Chinese and Western restaurants. A taxi ride from the urban area to the airport takes about 20 minutes and costs around 15-20 RMB.
Public Transport
There are four important railway stations in the city - Kunming Station, North Station, East Station and West Station. The main one is Kunming Station, which is in the Panlong District and ten minutes’ ride to the city centre. A narrow-gauge train is the popular route between the North Station and Vietnam. There is no subway in Kunming, since it is a small city. LRT (Light Rail Transit) is planned for 2009. The most popular vehicles for transport here are public buses and taxis.
