Guilin - Essential Information
Airport
Guilin’s Liangjiang International Airport is 26.5 km away from Guilin’s city centre. The airport bus to the city centre runs all day long, with Minhang Building as the terminal stop, costing 25 RMB and taking about 40 minutes for the whole trip. A taxi from the airport will cost about 60-80 RMB. Tourists heading for Guilin can always get a large discount on the air ticket, though flights taking off from here are not that cheap.
Public Transport
There are two railway station in Guilin, Guilin Station (also known as South Railway Station) and North Railway Station. Located in the heart of the city, the former one is used most frequently.

Guilin is well served by its public bus system though Chinese scripts indicating the desired destinations are recommended for non-Mandarin speakers. Bus fares start at 1.2 RMB, 1.5 RMB for the ones heading for suburb and 2 RMB for those air-conditioned.
In addition, all route numbers that start with 5 are free, such as line 57 and line 52. It is advised to take care of belongings on these buses.

Taxi
It’s convenient and simple to travel by taxi. The initial charge is 7 RMB and 7.8 RMB from 23:00 to 06:30. It is advisable to show the destination in Chinese to the driver.
