Cape Town - Cafes
With its clement climate which makes sitting outdoors feasible for much of the year, Cape Town has a lively café scene. Most cafes are in fact also bar-restaurants, serving full meals and alcohol as well as tea, coffee, soft drinks and snacks.
Café Mojito
Open from 11:00 until well after midnight, this Caribbean-style café bar has an extensive cocktail list and a casual atmosphere. The menu – featuring such delights as goat curry and jerk chicken – also has a Caribbean flavour.
Lola’s
With its varied but mainly vegetarian menu, Lola’s is a favourite rendezvous for budget travellers and locals and is open from early morning until midnight. Possibly the best value eating place in Cape Town.
Café Vespa
Serving excellent filled croissants, tapas, kebabs and salads, this is a great place for brunch, lunch or dinner and its terrace has super views of Table Mountain. It also rents Vespa scooters!
Café Erte
Internet café and ‘cosmic cocktail bar’ serving cocktails, drinks and veggie food to the sound of trance music. Eight high-speed internet stations.
