The Indian government offers a traditional visa (stamped inside of the passport), or an eVisa, obtained online. All nationals of the European Union and multiple countries across the world are eligible for an eVisa, which should be applied for at least 4 days prior to travel date and is accepted at 24 airports and 3 seaports countrywide. Special conditions apply to Pakistani passport holders or individuals with familial ties to Pakistan. Citizens of Bhutan, Nepal, and the Maldives are exempt from visa requirements (if not entering via mainland China).

Cochin International Airport (COK)
The Cochin International Airport is located approximately 28 km from the city centre. The airport is conveniently set at the crossroads of all three national highways, NH 47, NH 17 and NH 49, and it takes approximately 30 minutes to get here from the city centre.
Bus
There are lots of busses travelling between the city centre and the airport. A bus leaves every 1.5 hours from Fort Kochi. Times might differ depending on the, so be sure to check the bus schedule. The bus company KSRTC offers two classes of bus services from the airport to its destinations: fast passenger, and an even faster express. The last one will arrive at the city centre a bit earlier.
Taxi
Another option is a taxi, which are quite cheap in India. There is a prepaid taxi counter just before the airport exit, which is available 24/7.

Best Time to Visit
The best time to visit Cochin is October through February. The weather is pleasant, temperatures ranging from 20 to 33 degrees Celsius. Oddly, there are hardly any tourists during this period. If you are a fan of high temperatures, travel to Cochin between the months of March and June, when the highs hit 40 degrees Celsius. July through September is the monsoon season. Expect lots of rain, but also beautiful nature since the city turns into a green oasis thanks to all the moisture.

Public Transport
One of the ways to travel within the city is by bus; these are mostly operated by private companies. The largest company runs the red busses, which are the most important form of transportation in the city. You can buy tickets online or on the bus itself. Almost all of the busses leave from the Fort Kochi Bus Terminal.

The main post office of Cochin is the Kochi Head Post Office, located at Risdale Road found at Fort Kochi. There are loads of red letterboxes to be found across the city.
