Hobart - Bars & Nightlife
The nightlife in Hobart is quite lively, mainly happening on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday nights.
Excellent café by day in the evening, and come evening, a wine bar with a great selection of local wines by bottle or glass. The bar is partly located in a century old warehouse and has sandstone walls and cathedral ceilings.
Republic Bar and Café
Good pub food and a raucous, noisy atmosphere add to the pub scene at this popular location. Every day of the week you can enjoy live music and there is a beergarden with BBQ facilities.
IXL Long Bar at Henry Jones
Highly fashionable location and a well known meeting point in Hobart. The bar is a thought through concept combining contrast and harmony of colour, movement and form.
Wrest Point Casino
Award winning fine dining to light snacks on the absolute waterfront and just about everything else in between. The Wrest Point Hotel Casino was the very first legal casino in Australia, opened in 1973.
Hope and Anchor Tavern
This tavern first opened in 1807, and the licence has not lapsed since, making this Australia’s oldest pub. Today, the decor reflects the colonial past. Antiques, old prints and interesting pieces of maritime memorabilia make for a a fascinating visit.
