Citizens of the Schengen countries, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan and the Kingdom of Brunei can visit the United States for up to 90 days without applying for a visa (as well as citizens of Andorra, Lichtenstein, Monaco and San Marino). Citizens of these countries must obtain an ESTA (Electronic System for Travel Authorization) before traveling. All other travelers must obtain a visa before visiting the United States. International travelers need a passport that is valid for at least 3 months after the end of their intended trip in order to enter the country.

Best time to Visit

West Palm Beach can be enjoyed any time of the year, thanks the subtropical climate. But, to avoid the hottest temperatures and biggest crowds, the best time to visit are at the end of spring (April to May) and the beginning of fall (September to October). However, Florida´s hurricane season comes in fall, so during this period, the weather can be an issue, but nothing you should worry about since overly destructive hurricanes hardly hit Florida. The summer season is related with very hot temperatures and high humidity but the hotel rates are lower during this period while December to February is the high season, making West Palm Beach to even more expensive to visit although the humidity is down during this period making the weather more pleasant.

Palm Beach International Airport

Palm Beach International Airport is the main airport serving the West Palm Beach area. There are three main terminals, serving a variety of airlines, including domestic carriers Continental, American, JetBlue, Delta, Southwest, AirTran, Spirit, and US Airways, as well as Air Canada. The airport is located only 2 1/2 miles west of downtown West Palm Beach. It is also adjacent to Interstate 95, which travelers can use to reach surrounding cities like Boca Raton or Fort Lauderdale. In addition to various rental car options and taxis, there is also bus, rail, and Amtrak service to nearby surrounding areas. All ground transportation services are situated on Level One.

Palm Tran - Palm Beach County’s public bus transportation offers frequent and convenient services throughout Palm Beach County. At the bus stops, you will find the route numbers and travel direction. You pay your ticket when boarding on the bus; just make sure you have the exact change. There are also 31-day unlimited ride passes, which are available for purchase at Palm Tran Connection. The Tri-Rail service provides transportation between West Palm Beach and Miami, with stops at many locations. The Palm Beach International Airport is accessible by Tri-Rail from the West Palm Beach Tri-Rail station, located at 203 South Tamarind Avenue. A Palm Tran shuttle carries passengers to/from the Tri-Rail station to PBIA. When using Tri-Rail, you will need a loaded EASY Card with the right fare product, or a valid paper ticket. Passes and tickets can be bought at all Tri-Rail stations. Make sure to have a valid ticket before boarding, since no tickets are sold on-board on the train. (www.tri-rail.com)
