The Bay And The Town Centre
Don’t miss Strömstad’s oldest district with cobbled streets and genuine wooden buildings opposite the railway station. Strömstad’s flagship and most notable building is the Town Hall. The architect Cavalli-Holmgren built this church-like Art Nouveau building in 1915 using symbolic numbers to create amusing room layouts. Korpeberget provides a fine outlook over both the town and the archipelago.
The Svinesund Bridges
The new Svinesund Bridges were completed in 2005, just right for the centenary of the dissolution of the union between Norway and Sweden. The design and construction of the beautifully shaped arched bridge that connects Sweden and Norway has received a lot of attention. A wonderful view over the fjord and about 25 km from Strömstad.
